“Ellise does amazing somatic work and really helped me work through my trauma! She was so easy to talk to and made me feel at ease, which is pretty difficult when you’re processing complex trauma, but she really made it work. I can’t say enough about how much she helped me process trauma, helped me build the skills to overcome it, build skills for the next time I’m traumatized and more importantly how much she helped me heal. It’s like a massive weight has been lifted off my chest. ”

“Ellise is fantastic! She makes you feel so at ease, and she’s really easy to talk to. She’s helped me work though so much and I’m really glad that I found her. The Somatic work that we’ve been doing has been great and incredibly beneficial to... well, in every aspect of my life. I really like how she guides you through each session in a very flexible but goal oriented way. I’m so happy I found a therapist that I like. Believe me, it took me a long loooonnggg time. ”

Getting to know Ellise Milburn

Like my clients, I have had times in my life where I have faced the challenges that accompany depression, anxiety and times that were traumatic. I am not alone in this - this is a common experience for many people in this world. What is less common, is the experience of a safe and supportive place to explore and release things that we no longer need to carry. In our work, we would come up with a specialized plan with the use of cognitive, somatic, and EMDR tools that will help you flourish and break free from these patterns.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with women (along with men and young adults) to gain a sense of relief and peace from symptoms caused by difficult life situations. I work with you to feel confident in experiencing your feelings and reactions using strategies that help you regulate the nervous system by opening your awareness to connect the mind and body. If this resonates with you, don't hesitate to reach! I am happy to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I help clients work through trauma, anxiety, and ADHD symptoms negatively impacting their careers and relationships. In our first few sessions, we will work to obtain clarity on your goals and areas of need. We will collaborate on practical action plans to facilitate progress in and between sessions, broaden somatic awareness/connection, and reprocess memories in a new and empowering light.
