Elma McBroom, LPC

Psychotherapist
MO
Hi there, I'm Elma! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and Alaska, as well as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Kansas. I earned my Master's in Community Counseling from Webster University. I know the largest majority of work that clients do happens outside of each session. I enjoy working with couples, doing pre-marital work, and helping individuals dealing with anxiety or other issues. My approach My go-to for many clients is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use an integrated approach with many clients. My focus I work well with Christian clients wanting a Biblical approach. I am adept at treating anxiety, depression, stress, communication issues, and relationship problems. I have worked with other diagnoses like ADHD, Social Anxiety, OCD, as well as other diagnoses. My communication style I enjoy teaching clients as much as possible. I utilize SMART goals to enable clients to achieve healing and change. I am straightforward. I have a conservative mindset. My favorite word is boundaries. My journey to mental healthcare I am passionate about helping people work through ?junk in the trunk? to enable them to make measurable changes and hopefully achieve deeper healing. I believe I have insight, understanding, compassion, and knowledge to help others. My goals for you I work with clients to set specific, measurable, realistic goals weekly. I do not decide clients' goals as I feel they are personal. My first session with you I try to get a ?big picture? snapshot of what is or has occurred in clients' lives to enable me to use a here-and-now approach as we progress through therapy.
