Elnaz Mayeh, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I specialize in treating individuals struggling with substance use disorders and other co-occurring conditions, including anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, and relationship issues. Additionally, I address sexual dysfunctions and intimacy challenges. Many of my clients have been using negative coping skills to relieve emotional pain and/or are unable to enjoy life in a healthy way. My goal is to teach healthy coping strategies to replace these unhealthy patterns, helping clients reach their full potential. I take pride in empowering my clients and helping them recognize their strengths and abilities so they can begin to believe in themselves. I use evidence-based practices to support healing and growth. My approach is tailored to the individual needs of each client and often combines various psychotherapy methods. I assist clients in developing tolerance and resilience to become comfortable with change. Change, whether positive or negative, can be uncomfortable, as people often remain in unhealthy circumstances due to factors such as real or perceived fear-whether fear of loss, anticipation of guilt or regret, or uncertainty. I love this work because it doesn't feel like work. I look forward to meeting with my clients and witnessing the positive, sometimes drastic, changes they make. I cherish the unique connections I establish with each client through transparency, directness, and empathy. I want my clients to feel empowered, embrace change, and live fulfilling lives. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. I have extensive training working with individuals suffering from anxiety and substance use disorders. My experience includes working in inpatient and outpatient facilities, conducting groups, individual, couples, and family therapy.
