Getting to know Elyse Gehring

In both my work and external relationships, I have seen that life has the capacity for true beauty. I see it in the way my clients open up when they feel seen and supported, in the way the creation of a safe environment can give someone hope, and especially in the collaborative hard work that leads to true breakthroughs. That is why I bring a mindset of patience, honesty, and understanding to every session I am a part of.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What began as curiosity about the ways others think and feel, has turned into a passion for me. In addition to my LMHC, which is held in three states and a Master’s Degree from Pace University, I have found ways to continue to feed my thirst for knowledge and bring more diversity into my work. I am a Chopra Certified Coach through The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I also am an avid reader of both Eastern and Western philosophies. All of this allows me to embrace a holistic approach to my work with my clients. I am also a sucker for animals, a good book and New England architecture.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions I meet you where you are at. Since therapy is a constant journey of emotions and expression we celebrate life and all experiences of being human. I am an empathetic challenger who always remains supportive and open-minded.
