Emerald Naikan, LMFTA

Psychotherapist
WA
As a Licensed Couples and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), my work is relational and systemic. We exist within a web of relationships—with self, body, intimate others, and the natural world. Connection with ourselves deepens connection with life around us As a 1st-generation Persian woman, I am intimately familiar with the experience of a mixed identity and the ambiguous loss of living between worlds, which informs how I hold complexity, culture, and belonging in the therapeutic encounter. I work with individuals, monogamous and non-monogamous couples, and families of all kinds. Together, we explore how past and present experiences shape your story and relationships. Emerald’s Approach Therapeutic work happens at the precipice—between what was, is, and could be. It’s a process of storying; listening deeply for how problems have impacted your sense of self, relationships, and life You can expect a grounded space that invites depth, curiosity, and embodied presence. My therapeutic approach integrates Experiential, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative therapies—artfully separating you from the problem so we can explore what’s in the way of the life and relationships you prefer. When appropriate, I integrate EMDR tools to address how past experiences shape the present, supporting lasting and integrated change. My work centers on supporting people to come back into relationship with themselves—loosening the grip of survival patterns, and cultivating the safety needed to feel, heal, choose, and show up more authentically in their lives and relationships. I hold a mirror to what you already know, shedding light on hidden patterns shaping your relationships, sense of self, and path forward.
