ME
Hi there, I'm Emilie! Hi, I'm Emilie Disney-thanks for visiting my page. I recognize that it takes courage to ask for help and seek therapy. I am a social worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maine, and I have a background in grief, loss, family dynamics, and caregiving issues. I am experienced in supporting you as you move through life's transitions and challenges. If you're ready to make positive change in your life, I'm here to support you on your journey with compassion, curiosity, and deep listening. My approach The relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in successful therapy, and my goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore the challenges that are holding you back in life and work collaboratively to address these issues. I use an integrative approach that is strength-based and person-centered-it starts with identifying your unique strengths, perspectives, and goals for therapy. Together, we will make a therapeutic plan to achieve your goals using evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS. You will learn new skills and tools to cope with stress and feel more empowered to handle life's challenges. My focus I work with clients who are looking for support with life's challenges and would like to learn coping skills and strategies to experience life with greater well-being. It may be a specific event such as a loss or change of role in life or an ongoing concern such as anxiety, depression, stress, or self-esteem issues that brings you to therapy. Whatever brings you, if you're ready to make change and move forward in your life with greater ease and freedom, I'm ready to work with you. My communication style I work to create an open and accepting therapeutic environment that feels safe for my clients and free of judgment. I aim to listen with compassion and empathy so that you feel heard and understood at a deep level.
