IL
My name is Emily Cassidy and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I work with adolescents and adults, and focus on anxiety and panic disorder, depression, life transitions, and non-complex trauma. I assist clients to meet their goals by focusing on the here and now, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness. Starting 1/8/24 I will be focusing on seeing 2nd and 3rd shift workers, along with anyone who would prefer early morning appointments (1:00am- 11:00am CST). My approach I approach therapy with a strength-based client focus, ensuring that together we are working towards your identified goals. The work I do primarily focuses on the present and future, creating clear steps to move the client forward. I like to use techniques with a focus on shifting thought patterns, leading to more balanced emotions, primarily through CBT and mindfulness. My focus I have worked with clients across the age spectrum, 14 years and up. My approach tends to align best with people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am also a certified trauma clinician and can assist clients who may have unresolved non-complex trauma, through mindfulness. My communication style My communication style is calm and open. I am here to listen to my clients, and provide them with straightforward, but gentle feedback, without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare After 7 years working with adolescents living with histories of trauma, neglect, and abandonment; I was motivated to return to school to complete a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. My desire was to continue working with people in need of support, at a more in-depth level. I have been facilitating therapy online for over 2 years now. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is client-centered and cooperative. I am here to provide you with support and suggestions, but the goals are yours.
