Emily Collings, LPC

Psychotherapist
PA
I am a therapist who believes in the power of connection, curiosity, and compassion for healing. When we work together, expect to find a space where your full self is welcome, including the uncertain, tender, and messy parts. My therapy approach is founded on relational-cultural and feminist principles, viewing healing as an outcome of safe and meaningful relationship, inclusive of the one we nurture together. Although my specialization revolves around reproductive identity such as pregnancy complexities, infertility, abortion, parenting, and various facets of body-perception and decision-making, I also aid clients addressing diverse issues. The range of concerns includes grief and loss, trauma, queer identity, neurodivergence, anxiety, and life transitions. I work with those seeking clarity or self-understanding, and those longing for a stronger sense of self and world belonging. I bring more than four years of clinical practice and specialized training as a miscarriage and bereavement doula. I have a conviction that personal experiences are molded by individual history, identities, relationships, and environmental interaction. In my method, emphasis is placed on how these aspects affect your thoughts, emotions, and actions, as well as establishing a setting where your voice is valued and respected. Mindfulness, self-compassion, expressive arts, pop-culture and philosophy, and self-advocacy skills are routinely integrated into my work. I also employ Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-specific modalities like Narrative Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Openly supportive of LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity, my practice is aligned with Health At Every Size, upholding principles like bodily autonomy, trauma-informed and grief-informed care. I am available here to assist you if you feel weighed down, anxious or unacknowledged. Trust me to help you navigate your journey with care and without judgment.
