Getting to know Emily Jaskier

I have over 10 years of experience providing therapy in a mental health setting, along with professional leadership experience. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the State University of New York, Buffalo. I have helped clients achieve great success in improving their relationships, managing stress, and navigating life transitions, such as transitioning into motherhood. My clients have made lasting changes through our work together using mindfulness techniques combined with cognitive behavioral therapies. I take a holistic approach to treat the whole person by implementing skills that strengthen your physical, mental, and emotional health. As a former D1 athlete, I enjoy motivating people to take ownership of their lives. I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere with a down-to-earth demeanor to help you feel accepted and confident in making your desired changes. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental space where you can explore how to work toward the best version of yourself!

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session, we will start to build our therapeutic relationship by discussing the current issues that are bringing you into therapy. We will then collaborate to identify the specific goals you wish to achieve in order to become the healthiest version of yourself. I believe we're all capable of change if we put in the work. What sets me apart from other therapists is that in a session with me, we will balance our time of processing your feelings while also walking away with concrete skills to address your current stressors. These skills can range from changing our thought patterns, to developing different action routines, to finding healthier outlets to express ourselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I help my clients by providing psychoeducation, validation, coping skills from evidence-based therapies. A typical session will consist of checking in on behavioral changes we discussed previously and introducing new skills. We will then process your feelings related to current stressors and discuss an action plan of ways to improve your life outside of therapy. All therapy sessions are conducted via telehealth. My schedule is Monday 9-5, Tuesday 9-5 and Friday 10-5. Please note, all of my clients have reoccurring appointments. The intake slot that you sign up for will most likely be your session time moving forward.

Emily made me comfortable and was easy to talk to from the beginning. She is very knowledgeable and uses a holistic approach to facilitate mindfulness skills that are practical and effective.
Emily was not only professional but kind. I have had previous therapists that I felt were just there to get a paycheck and not actually there to help me. I felt like Emily really listened and was sensitive to my personal situation. She was encouraging and provided great strategies to make the hard days, better.
Emily was just the person to help me work through some relationship issues. She was kind and really listened. Thankful for her help!
Emily is a kind and genuine therapist, which made it easier for me to open up to her! At first I was nervous, because it can be hard to start with a therapist but she made our sessions so comfortable and she’s easy to talk to. I always felt understood by her! Emily used DBT therapy and CBT therapy in our sessions and she explained everything really well and it made so much sense which was awesome. She provided me with lots of tools that I was able to use and it really made a difference for me. I really liked how I was able to better understand what was going on with me, and I also had ways to better manage the stress I was dealing with.
Emily is very relatable, calming and understanding. She offers great insight and is very encouraging while still being patient and empathetic. I look forward to my sessions with her every week and feel comfort knowing it is a safe space and judgment free zone. Would highly recommend her therapy services!
