Getting to know Emily Konicki

Hello!! I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida and am in my third (and hopefully final) year of my doctorate degree. Let’s just say that I have been in school for a LONG time, so I completely understand the experience and stress!! I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, which laid the foundation for my passion in this field. I enjoy helping individuals and families navigate current life stressors or challenges, such as parental divorce, changing schools, studying for a stressful exam, and so on. I often feel the need to connect with someone on a deeper level who would really hear what I was saying, without them sharing anything personal in return. My hope is that you will be able to connect with me in the same way. I want you to feel supported and heard in our sessions, especially if you do not have that outside of sessions. Therapy is hard, and you need to be able to have trust in the person you reach out to. I am always open to feedback and willing to work hard to build your trust throughout this process. I hope that we can speak soon so that I can hear a bit more about your experiences and what support you are seeking!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is one that comes from a place of empathy and understanding. I believe it is important to recognize the growth and challenges that a client has experienced because that is the foundation we are building on. I also value hearing client's experiences and enjoy connecting them to their family through a multigenerational lens. I work from a place of empathy and understanding, where you will feel support throughout sessions. I enjoy working with healthcare professionals and military families as well, given my unique experiences in those realms. However, I am open to working with individuals of any background and life experience!
