Getting to know Emily Lawrence

Hi, I'm Emily Lawrence. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 141150), who works with individuals and couples as they discover or rediscover their most fulfilling lives. My direct yet warm approach to psychotherapy is designed to make sure you feel understood, safe to bring it all up, and taken care of by someone who gets it. I am deeply committed to empowering you and guiding you toward your goals. Whether you are in search of healing, peace, self-confidence, connection, authenticity, serenity, or direction, we'll get there together-one step at a time, one day at a time.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, panic disorders, Maternal Mental Health, identity and self-worth, faith and spirituality discovery or recovery, codependency, addiction in families (Al-Anon), neurodiverse coaching, life transitions, career exploration, and relationship patterns. Many of the women I connect with are millennial moms juggling work, home, or both, often quietly wondering when they last felt truly present, peaceful, or like themselves. I also work with couples who feel like they're at the end of their rope, struggling to recognize the person they once fell in love with. Couples therapy isn't about going back to who you were when you met. It's about helping you meet each other as the people you are now. I take a solution-focused, coaching-informed approach, especially for clients who feel overwhelmed by competing expectations and information overload. Together, we slow down, reconnect with joy, and gently uncover the parts of you buried under "shoulds," responsibilities, and survival mode. From there, we look honestly and compassionately at what's getting in the way, and build actionable strategies to restore balance, connection, and meaning.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I approach therapy with warmth, directness, and curiosity. I meet clients where they are, helping them notice patterns that no longer serve them while building compassion and self-awareness. Our work together is grounding, human, and practical. We do meaningful, honest work, make room for humor and relief, and move at a pace that honors your nervous system, not your to-do list. In addition to individual and couples therapy, I also provide on-site business and workplace coaching and consulting. I help teams navigate organizational patterns, tensions, and communication styles to create smoother collaboration, resolve conflict, and build a more productive, satisfying workplace.
