Emily Mathews, LPC

Psychotherapist
333 N Michigan Ave, Ste 1400, Chicago, IL
Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or not, it is important to recognize the strength it takes to reach out and ask for help or assistance. Life can be incredibly difficult, and at times we may feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or exhausted. No one should have to face those difficulties alone. I believe therapy can provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever you might be facing-past, present, or future. I take an integrative approach to provide each unique individual with what will best serve them. As an art therapist, I combine counseling and art-making to offer personal, meaningful, and holistic mental health care. Creativity becomes a genuine resource to help encompass authenticity, life meaningfulness, recognition of strengths, hopefulness, and focusing on solutions that best suit you in the present moment. My goal is to empower my clients and support emotional expression, processing, healing, cultivating awareness, and feeling worthy of play and creativity. I earned my BA in Art and Psychology from Monmouth College and my MA in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University. Through my education and experiences, I am fortunate to work with a variety of populations, backgrounds, and ages. I look forward to meeting you and having the opportunity to work collaboratively to help you achieve the life you deserve.
