Getting to know Emily Pintel

My primary focus is on adults and young adults who find themselves facing various mental health challenges. Anxiety and depression are two of the most common issues I encounter, and I am deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate these experiences. Additionally, I assist clients in managing the stressors of everyday life, whether it be work-related pressures, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or other external factors that may contribute to a high-stress environment. Whether it’s adjusting to a new job, relocating to a different city, or finding oneself in a different stage of life, it can feel overwhelming. I am here to help you explore your emotions and develop positive coping mechanisms to facilitate a smoother transition process. Interpersonal challenges and self-esteem are also areas I specialize in. Relationships and how we perceive ourselves can significantly impact our mental well-being. I work with my clients to improve their communication skills, foster healthier relationships, and develop a more positive self-image. By addressing these issues, my goal is to help you create a sense of fulfillment and inner confidence. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, effective care. It takes courage to embark on this work, and I am here to support and champion your greatest source of strength: yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that how we act, think, and feel is unique to every individual and I know first-hand how investigating the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of our inner world can bring release, relief, and peace. My approach is client-centered and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with. Integrating techniques from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Therapy, my aim is to collaboratively find what works best for you to achieve your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can feel free to express yourself and find the support you need to overcome your struggles. Together, we will work towards creating positive change and equipping you with the right tools to maintain your mental well-being for the long run.
