I feel fortunate to have spent the majority of my five-year clinical career working in community mental health, primarily with adults at all stages of recovery. Community work, alongside individual therapeutic settings, has given me extensive experience with trauma, substance use, serious mental illness, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I employ an integrative approach, largely informed by systems theory and attachment theory, while utilizing practical skills drawn from CBT and DBT. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, making every effort to integrate how an individual's specific identity group can be impacted by societal structures. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University, which has deeply shaped my understanding and practice. Curiosity is what drew me into the field of therapy and remains at the core of my work. I enjoy collaborating with clients as they explore self and identity and strive to make meaningful change, whether by building on existing skills or discovering new ones. My style is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative, and I am committed to finding the most effective tools for my clients as they seek empowerment and healing in their lives. Nothing brings me more joy and fulfillment than better understanding a situation, especially when it is radically different from my own lived experience. I am here to learn with you, support, guide and challenge you, and laugh and cry with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I find taking a two-pronged approach to identifying and treating current mental health symptoms is the most effective - while things that are happening presently might be triggering all the feelings you are coming to therapy to address, the root sources of those feelings might go way further back. I like to start by making those current feelings and needs easier to manage by identifying coping skills and immediate changes to make the day to day less overwhelming. Then, once those symptoms subside (or on those weeks when things just seem to be going a little better!) I like to explore the past and identify the beginning of some of these core beliefs. This way, every session can hopefully feel productive and goal-oriented.
