Emma Terzian, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with clients via telehealth. I have completed my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with individuals aged 18 and above, and I specialize in depression, anxiety, and stress using DBT, CBT, and a Person-Centered approach to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on my clients' needs. I have been trained in DBT via Behavioral Tech Linehan Institute Training Company. I most frequently use DBT, CBT, and the Person-Centered approach, as these modalities help my clients gain better awareness and understanding of themselves and become skillful in managing their symptoms. My focus I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for adults aged 18 and above who may be dealing with challenges of life transitions, social pressures, and stress in their everyday life; these may bring up symptoms of anxiety and depression. I work with my clients to help them navigate these transition periods and to build the right skills to improve their self-esteem, increase their self-confidence, become hopeful and motivated, and to build a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is calm, personable, and empathic. I like to normalize my clients' experiences to help them feel comfortable sharing about things that they need help with. My sessions are nonjudgmental, and I like to psycho-educate and use the Loving Kindness skill from DBT during my sessions. My journey to mental healthcare I love and enjoy helping people, thus, my career choice was made based on ensuring that I will be able to help people. I feel very honored when people trust me to help them, and it is so rewarding to observe my clients' growth and progress during therapy.
