Getting to know Emmanuelle Lajeunesse

Ms. Emmanuelle Lajeunesse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Soulful Horizon LCSW, PLLC. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University and brings over nine years of clinical experience to her practice. Ms. Lajeunesse specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. She integrates evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, faith-sensitive approach to help clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and find a greater sense of peace. In sessions, Ms. Lajeunesse provides a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard and supported. She works alongside each individual to uncover strengths, develop healthier coping skills, and move toward lasting emotional and mental well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive space where your full story is welcome. I understand that life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, trauma, or constant stress. My role is not to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you—to help you feel less alone, more understood, and more equipped to move forward. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and together we will uncover the strengths, values, and resilience you already hold within you. My job is to help you become unstuck, more in control, and less emotionally drained by the challenges that impact your daily life. Clients often describe my style as supportive, collaborative, and faith-sensitive for those who desire it. Whether or not spirituality is part of your journey, you’ll find that I meet you where you are—with respect, compassion, and evidence-based strategies to help you heal. Above all, I want you to know that you don’t have to walk through this alone. Therapy is a courageous step, and I am committed to providing a space where you feel safe to process, grow, and take steady steps toward becoming the person you were created to be.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with taking time to really listen to your story. In our first sessions, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently struggling with, and what you hope to change. Together, we’ll set goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you—whether that’s reducing anxiety, finding relief from depression, healing from trauma, or building better coping skills. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused interventions, and Mindfulness strategies. These methods are tailored to your unique needs, helping you understand patterns of thought and behavior, process difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping. For clients who wish, I also integrate a faith-rooted perspective, drawing from Biblical principles to support emotional healing and resilience. This is always optional and only incorporated if it aligns with your goals. Throughout the process, I provide tools you can use both inside and outside of sessions. Together, we’ll track your progress, celebrate small wins, and make adjustments as needed. My goal is not just to help you manage symptoms but to empower you with strategies and insight that lead to lasting change and a greater sense of peace.
