As a passionate psychotherapist, Emmy believes that collective healing and liberation are rooted in these essential values, and they bring this philosophy into each session. They’ve discovered, both in their own journey and while supporting others, that everyone can benefit from a dedicated space to reflect on who they are and how they connect with the world around them.
When you step into a session, imagine having a safe haven to express yourself freely, to play, and to dream. Emmy will be there to affirm your experiences, share their curiosity with you, and gently challenge your perspectives when needed. As part of their educational training, they have earned their master's degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago.
Specializing in a diverse range of topics, Emmy works with adults on everything from the nuances of various relationship dynamics—whether platonic, romantic, monogamous, or polyamorous—to exploring sex, intimacy, identity, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. They are also passionate about disability advocacy and provide support for short and long-term crisis intervention.
Outside of their therapeutic work, Emmy finds joy in stargazing, baking delicious cookies, nurturing their garden, and seeking new adventures.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am currently seeing clients virtually on evenings and weekends.
Before starting your first session with me you will need to complete intake/on boarding paperwork through our online patient portal.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During our initial session we will focus on building trust with one another and familiarity with the reasons you came to therapy. After that, our therapy time is yours and will develop based off your needs and goals. Each client is different and has their own needs and desires, those will always be center of our sessions together.
