Eric believes therapy is a collaborative process in which the client is the expert in themselves and steers the ship, while he supports them through what can be difficult, though necessary and important, change. At the base of Eric's work is a collaborative, empathic, non-judgmental, hopeful, and accepting approach in which a unique relationship can form to help facilitate change and allow a person to become more accepting, patient, curious, and compassionate toward themselves. Eric has 10 years' experience in the mental health field in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of people. His work with individuals in therapy is informed by his Master's in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. His training and experience impel him to assess the whole person in their environment, recognize their strengths, facilitate change, and instill hope. In his work as a clinician, he draws from a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing, and strives to honor a person-centered, relational, and strengths-based framework.
