Getting to know Eric Sharp
I will support each client's goals to better their lives and offer challenging opportunities in order to bring about positive change. Through a client-centered therapeutic relationship, I am able to develop rapport and maintain a safe space for growth to occur. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College, which equips me with the skills and knowledge to effectively guide clients on their journey toward healing and personal development.
What should a new client know about working with you?
It is my goal to offer counseling services to teens, young adults, and adults that are grounded in evidence-based practice, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I use these skills to engage and meet clients where they are and to better support their goals in therapy.
I use evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The beginning of each session will be a check-in period where events between the previous session and the current one are discussed. These discussions will engage the skills discussed in previous sessions and how those skills were applied. Then the session transitions into new skills or discussing how to overcome the challenges you are facing now. The session will end with a check-out where skills are discussed and how they can be applied moving forward.
