“From our first meeting, Erica has been welcoming, supportive, and encouraging every step of the way. She always meets me where I am throughout our sessions. Erica has allowed me to feel comfortable opening up and venting when needed, but she will also allow time and space if there is something I’m not quite ready to tackle. I am very grateful for all of her help and positive energy!”

Getting to know Erica Wilkinson

Therapy is a gift. It is an opportunity to be seen, heard, understood, and supported in ways that you might not be. As a person-centered therapist, I don't find success in doing something for the client, but rather in being someone for the client. Being a multicultural counselor, I understand the importance of viewing someone as a whole individual, rather than just what is presented symptomatically. Through an integrative analytic and cognitive-behavioral approach, I empower clients to gain insight and overcome life's stressors and hardships. Healing is a journey-let's go through it together. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree, both from SUNY Old Westbury, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support clients effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an honors graduate of the Mental Health Counseling Program at SUNY Old Westbury. Since earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, my passion and commitment to treating others has never wavered. I have worked with many populations, including adolescents and adults and have treated a variety of issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A major focus in my work has been towards multicultural counseling and the importance of understanding how symptoms present in ethnic and minority populations. Using an integrative approach, I address a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and self-esteem with a specialization in trauma and interpersonal or relational issues. I am available for both virtual and in-person sessions depending on client preference.

I immediately felt comfortable from the first visit I had with Erica. She has helped me immensely and has been both guiding and supportive. She is very flexible with scheduling and truly cares about her patients’ well being. I cannot recommend her enough.
I’ve been seeing Erica for about a year now and she has been so incredibly helpful the entire time. She’s always been insightful and able to give me perspective on the things I discuss with her. As a younger person I find that she is able to understand things in a modern context so I know her advice can be applicable to my situation. She has such a friendly personality so I have consistently feel very comfortable talking about any subject matter with her.
Erica is an excellent therapist. Over the last year, she’s helped me navigate relationships, family issues, and career decisions. She validates my emotions and offers insightful feedback. I also appreciate her understanding of cultural nuance. I highly recommend her.
I’ve been going to Erica for almost a year now, and I only wish I’d found her sooner! She is compassionate and easy to talk to, provides a safe space, and gently guides me toward insight and growth. Every session feels supportive, productive, and meaningful. I highly recommend her!
I’ve been seeing Erica for almost a year now and it’s been great! She listens and offers perspectives that I wouldn’t be able to see on my own. This is my first time in therapy and so I didn’t know what to expect, but the experience has a really great one.
I’ve been through plenty of therapists but it wasn’t until working with Erica that I actually started to feel the benefits of therapy. She does a great job at creating a safe space, and she has helped guide me through a lot of self-awareness and reflection. Couldn’t be happier with the way things are going.
I have been seeing Erica for a year now, and I recommend her without hesitation. She creates a caring and nonjudgmental space that makes it easy to be vulnerable. She has been instrumental in helping me navigate relationships and figure out my career path. What I appreciate most is her balance: she is deeply empathetic, but also challenges my thinking in a way that has truly led to positive changes in my life.
I honestly don’t know where I’d be without my therapist. From the very first session, she made me feel completely comfortable opening up. She’s such a genuine listener, patient, understanding, and always fully present. I never feel rushed or unheard, no matter what I bring to our sessions. She’s also been so kind and flexible with my busy schedule, which means so much to me. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares the way she does. I’ve grown so much through our work together, and I’m beyond grateful for her guidance, compassion, and support.
Erica is literally the best! I always feel so seen. She creates that safe space for me to express any thought big or small. It honestly feels like she’s my professional older sister. She is calm but assertive and holds me accountable. There’s been a tremendous amount of growth from my sessions with her.
I can’t say enough good things about Erica. When I first reached out to her, she didn’t even have availability in her schedule, but she still found a way to fit me in — and that’s just one example of how flexible and dedicated she is to her clients. From the very first session, she’s created such a warm and safe environment that makes it easy to open up and be honest. I truly appreciate her patience, her compassion, and the way she listens without judgment. She’s provided me with so many helpful tools and guidance that have made a real difference in helping me reach my goals and grow as a person. I always leave our sessions feeling supported, heard, and encouraged. I’m so grateful to have Erica as my therapist.
Working with Erica this past year has been so beneficial to my life and my mental health. She has helped guide me to get through some of the toughest times and continues to help me work through new hurdles and I am grateful to have found her and to be working with her!
    Great listener i love her!

Erica was an amazing therapist! As her bio says she sees every one of her clients as a whole individual instead of a patient with “symptoms”. That’s how she saw me. She really helped me to overcome a hardship im my life through her different therapeutical approaches! Would definitely recommend seeing her.
