Getting to know Erich Heintzen

I believe that as we evolve and grow, our connections with ourselves, others, and the world around us can become deeper and more fulfilling. However, when we are under stress, in a relationship crisis, or feel anxious or depressed, our connections to our loved ones and to ourselves can become limited. We may be unable to communicate, feel angry, lack energy, and feel overwhelmed. To relieve life's pressures, it is important to slow down and become more self-aware-reconnecting with ourselves once again. Counseling fosters trust and is a process that promotes growth and change. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor's degree from Concordia University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support individuals through these challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, we will identify the areas of your life that you would like to improve. We utilize an integrative approach to therapy, combining cognitive, behavioral, and mindfulness strategies with interpersonal theories. We will work together to develop techniques, skills and new ways of understanding obstacles as opportunities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Weekly sessions begin with following up where we left off the week before, or doing a scanning exercise to explore what experience or theme is most present for you at that time. Once we find the starting point, I will help you get curious about the issue, where it is coming from, why it's distressing or is feeling stuck, and then work to find solutions to moving through it. The modalities I use mostly are IFS (Internal Systems), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), moixed with Mindfullness and Somatic therapies.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $175 for 50 minutes
Ongoing session: $150 for 50 minutes
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

If you are using an insurance for which we are "In Network" for, we will make the claim on your behalf, and you won't pay out of pocket until the insurance company has processed the claim and let us know if you have a deductible amount to reach, or if you only owe a per session co-pay (usually the same as a regular Dr office visit). If you have an insurance for which we are an "Out of Network" provider, you will owe the session fee at each time of service, and we will provide you with a monthly "Super Bill" which you submit to your insurance company. They will process the claim and determine what kind of "Out of Network" benefits you have and pay you directly if you qualify.
