Erika Dreyer, MSW

Psychotherapist
ID
I'm Erika, an Idaho LCSW with 20 years of experience and a deep belief that healing happens in the body as much as the mind. As a Native American woman, I bring cultural humility and a whole-person lens to our work. I blend somatic therapy, CBT, and ACT — practical tools, not a one-size approach. My approach is built around one core belief: your nervous system matters as much as your thoughts. That's why I integrate somatic therapy and biofeedback alongside more traditional approaches like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Instead of talking about your anxiety in the abstract, we work with what's actually happening in your body — and that tends to produce faster, more lasting change than insight alone. I'm flexible, evidence-based, and genuinely collaborative. There's no protocol I'll follow if it doesn't fit you. We'll figure out what works for your brain, your history, and your goals — together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Idaho with 20 years of experience working with adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, sleep struggles, and the kind of exhaustion that doesn't go away with a good night's rest. I'm also a Native American woman, and I bring that grounded, whole-person perspective into the way I work — meaning I pay attention to culture, identity, body, and context, not just symptoms. I work entirely via telehealth, which means you can access support wherever you are in Idaho without adding another task to an already full day. If you're someone who has tried to logic your way through your pain and found it hasn't worked — you might be a great fit for the kind of work we'd do together."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a conversation, not an intake form. I'll want to know what brought you here — not just the clinical history, but what you're actually feeling and what you're hoping for. We'll spend time getting to know each other, because I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation everything else is built on. By the end of our first hour, you should have a clearer sense of how I work, whether we're a good fit, and what a realistic path forward might look like. Most people leave feeling lighter than they expected. You don't need to wait until things get worse to reach out. I offer virtual sessions across Idaho — no commute, no waiting room.
