Getting to know Erika Pozuc

Hello, I'm Erika! I've always wanted to be a teacher, and that passion has become the foundation of my counseling approach. While I don't teach ABCs, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), I do teach clients about disorders and symptoms, coping skills, thoughts and behaviors, exploring feelings, and learning to love this new you. To create an atmosphere of learning and growing, I focus on our relationship, creating a safe environment, exploring openness to change, and using evidence-based treatments. I graduated in 2012 with a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Akron. With over five years of experience, I've honed the art of combining listening, humor, motivation, processing, and skill-building to promote true healing and lasting changes. My counseling experience spans various settings—in offices, homes, schools, and communities—working with individuals aged 4 to 65+. However, my specialties include treating trauma (I'm EMDR trained), Depression and Anxiety disorders (using Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT), anger management (emotional regulation), and working with young teens to young adults. Clients often tell me they appreciate the comfortable atmosphere I create, my insight, laid-back style, friendly personality, and the big dose of laughter I bring to our sessions. Therapy takes time, patience, hard work, and probably some tears, but healing and happiness are possible. I'm here for it all. Let's walk this journey together, one step at a time.
