Getting to know Erika Schweizer-Boehler

A major inspiration for me to become a therapist was my five years as a Director of Programs for a Los Angeles non-profit called Seen and Heard, which provides professional development through the performing arts to youth and young adults transitioning out of foster care, as well as those in trafficking situations. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Daybreak University. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. My California license number is 145850, and I am currently employed at Foresight Mental Health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a therapist who blends deep listening with evidence-based approaches to help you untangle what's been weighing you down - whether stress, past trauma or feeling stuck in old patterns. You don't have to have it all figured out - just a willingness to show up and begin. By creating a client-centered space that fosters safety, trust, and authenticity. YOU are the expert on your life. By honoring your lived experiences, strengths, and personal goals, I help you develop greater self-awareness and resilience. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful, research-backed approach that helps the brain heal from trauma, anxiety, and stuck patterns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A process of mine is asking you "What would signal to you that your therapy journey is coming to a close?" My work is about supporting you in your goals and what you are wanting to get out of your therapeutic experience.
