Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Erin! Most of us just want to be understood and accepted at some level of existence. If you are someone who has tried counseling before and had the impression that the provider was just there to make money, then working with me will be a whole new world. My focus I work best with adults who are open to learning about themselves and considering alternative perspectives. Mental health issues I am most familiar with are ADHD, anxiety/panic, co-occurring anxiety and depression, insomnia, anger and emotional dysregulation, spiritual trauma or questioning, and family/attachment trauma or C-PTSD. My approach I am an eclectic counselor, and my theoretical approach is Existential-analytical. This means that I blend a variety of techniques seamlessly based on who you are and what is happening in the session. I often blend cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, dialectical behavioral, and somatic. Our work together is collaborative. My communication style Emotional safety in session is my barometer for growth. I set the tone by the principles of trauma-informed care. My communication style could be described as Yoda-like. I give education, coaching, and challenge your comfort level based on your current span of distress tolerance. I follow your cues. My journey to mental healthcare I started with a BS in Psychology. I earned my MS in Community Counseling and worked 4 years under supervision to earn my clinical counseling license. I have 17 years of experience working with many different people with a wide range of mental health issues. I appreciate all of the people who have invited me to share in their journey. My goals for you I will work with you to identify your goals based on what you share with me. I translate your emotions, thoughts, and struggles into a specific goal that we can track for progress. Client treatment planning is like plotting a map for a road trip. You choose your destination, and I will help pick the stops along the way.
