Psychotherapist

The journey to wholeness begins with one step. While at times the journey can be difficult, the freedom that can be found on the other side makes it all worth the effort. By choosing to find a therapist you have taken that first step. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling from Loyola University in MD. I have been in practice for close to 20 years now. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ issues, substance use, as well as the general life stressors we all experience in this face-paced, demanding world we live in whether that be work or relationships. I offer individual therapy sessions and am willing to journey with you on your self-defined path to wholeness. I bring a client-centered approach and we will go at the speed you wish to journey. During our first session, I will spend some time getting to know you and a little about what is bringing you to counseling. The first session involves a comprehensive intake which will take some time but is necessary before we move into the work. We will discuss your goals and what you hope to get out of your counseling journey. At the end, we can discuss whether you feel that this feels like a good fit for you prior to scheduling your next session. As a therapist, I am warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I will also promise to be direct and honest with you as well. I have been told I am easy to talk with and open up to. As for therapeutic modality we will work to find the one that works best for you. I have found in my experience that different people benefit from different approaches, so it will be important to find the one that will help you get the most out of therapy. I have years of experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders as well as LGBTQ issues.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
