Getting to know Erin Foster

Are you feeling overwhelmed, lost, or confused? Ever been stuck and don't know why? Felt isolated in your struggles? Have you experienced the pain of betrayal or the frustration of not being supported? If any of these resonate with you, know you're not alone. I get it. Been there. The pain, the guilt, the sense of failure. Whether you're dealing with personal dilemmas, family issues, or the challenges of substance use, remember that seeking help is a sign of strength. With an EdD in Psychology from Argosy University, a Master's in Co-Occurring Disorders from Phillips Graduate University, and a Bachelor's from Pepperdine University, I'm here to support you. If you're ready to dive deep through these challenges, let's talk.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Hi, I’m Dr. Erin, looking forward to being a trusted partner in your journey toward a happier life. My approach is rooted in collaboration; I am here to listen to you with compassion, understand your unique experiences, and guide you towards meaningful change. At the same time, I'm here to challenge you - to gently push you beyond your comfort zones where true growth happens. My professional experience isn't limited to therapy alone; I have done psychological consulting for the entertainment industry, executive coaching for Fortune 500 company leaders and family dynamics consulting for multi generational family offices.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is down to earth, warm but to the point. I will partner with you in working as hard as you do at finding solutions to your problems. Within a reasonable period of time after the beginning of treatment, I will discuss with you my working understanding of the problem, treatment plan, therapeutic objectives, and my view of the possible outcome of treatment. If you have any unanswered questions about any of the procedures used in the course of your therapy, the possible risks, my expertise in employing them, or about the treatment plan, please ask and you will be answered fully. You also have the right to ask about other treatments for your condition and the risks and benefits. If you could benefit from any treatment that I do not provide, I have an ethical obligation to advise you regarding your treatment options.

Dr. Foster is terrific. She is kind and personable. Super intuitive. She's an incredible listener and asks just the right questions. I come out of her sessions understanding myself better, knowing what I want, and feeling more empowered.
Dr. Foster was immediately able to recognize and label the specific events I was contending with. She provided tools and an accesible plan for mitigating the the hurdles I was facing, over the long term. Knowing she has my back for check ins and accountability is really key. She was also able to advise me on processes to help my kids so I could manage my own mental health while supporting my kids.
Erin was an incredible therapist and I am so grateful for the years I spent in sessions with her. She is warm, inviting, and always facilitates a productive yet challenging conversation! Would recommend her to anyone seeking therapy!
Dr. Erin Foster got me through one of the worse times in my life, I was going through what felt like hell to me at that time and I don’t know if I would’ve made it if I hadn’t met her. What I really liked about my close to 1 year sessions was that she is not only brilliant as in she would teach me the “science” behind a lot of human actions/behaviors but she is also very spiritually gifted. She created such a safe space for me to dig into some of my deepest feelings, memories, fears. I grew and healed so much during this time. She was a big support system through my sons custody case and kept me sane, strong through our sessions. When my friends tell me about bad experiences with their therapist/therapy I always say they don’t have the right one. Because my experience was amazing, and became such an advocate for mental health among my family and friends. I still miss her to this day and will be forever grateful for helping me get through a very dark time in my life!!
I absolutely love Dr. Foster. She really listens and help you unfold all the knots that need to be straightened out in your life. She became someone I counted on to be able to re focus.
Dr. Foster truly expresses a desire to see me become successful in my treatment. She makes me feel comfortable enough to share anything and everything with her, she doesn't act like she is perfect but just wants to help make me better a person. Dr. Foster is open-minded and demonstrates a strong willingness to solve my problems
Dr Foster is an excellent counselor, she always gets me to process and work out my problems! She is very patient, and attentive
Dr. Erin Foster has been an amazing! Her unwavering support, genuine care, and dedication to my progress are truly commendable. It's clear that she's made a significant positive impact in my life, and continues to do so.
Dr. Foster is an exceptional therapist, and it's very apparent that she takes a personal interest in her clients. Her caring and compassionate approach helped me process some deep prior trauma... and move beyond it in a healthy and natural manner. I am extremely grateful for her support over the past two years.
I have been a client of Dr. Foster for 16 years. Erin is an empathetic therapist that gives you true, real guidance and advice that can impact your life profoundly in a positive light. She has helped me throughout my adolescent years into adulthood and through issues of death, addiction, and co-parenting / martial issues. She hits every box for an amazing therapist. I couldn't recommend her enough for anyone in any avenue of life.
