Hi there, I'm Erin! It's not easy to decide to start therapy, and it's not easy to find the right therapist for you. I'm proud of you for being here and taking this first step! I take a collaborative, client centered approach to therapy, where we will work together on your unique needs and goals. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and change thought and behavior patterns and allow you to set the pace. This approach gives you tools to manage thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. I also use mindfulness techniques like grounding exercises and deep breathing, as well as meditation, and even moving and stretching to begin the session. My focus I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, life changes, stress, and emotional regulation. I'm here to help you navigate working through trauma, building coping skills, explore personal goals, and we'll create a plan for growth that is achievable and empowering. My communication style I listen without judgment and offer clear, direct, communication. I'm here to help you process and reflect on your experiences that brought you here today. You can expect me to be a good listener, calm, and patient throughout our session. My journey to mental healthcare One of my greatest joys is to connect with people and watch them learn new insights, shake off old patterns, and feel more free in their minds. I've had the opportunity to work with people struggling with substance abuse at a methadone clinic; children and adolescents dealing with pressures of school, parents, and friends; women in sex work; and incarcerated men and women. I learn so much from my clients and I'm grateful for each of them. I believe in the power of therapy and coping strategies. Life is hard and it helps to be able to talk about that. My goals for you I believe in working in partnership with my clients. Together we'll set goals and can expect them to change over the course of our work together.
