Hi there, I'm Erland! I am a Licensed Psychotherapist (LCSW) based in San Francisco County, California, and Providence, RI. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Smith College and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. I work with adults and teenagers experiencing depression, anxiety, life stressors, ADHD, and Autism/Asperger’s. I also support adults struggling with Substance Use. My approach The most important thing is creating a therapeutic rapport where clients feel heard and understood with empathy. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic, and Solution-Focused approaches. My method is client-centered and tailored to what each individual brings to the session and wants to accomplish. My focus I typically work with adults of all ages facing depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, Autism/Asperger’s, and substance issues. I also work with teenagers with ADHD, Autism/Asperger’s, depression, and anxiety. I help clients identify the origin or cause of their challenges to better understand their stressors. From there, we work on behavioral changes using meaningful tools, coping strategies, and interventions that support them now and in the future. I also assist clients who need help with communication in areas like work or relationships and am comfortable providing that support. My communication style I communicate clearly and create a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing what troubles them most, offering an empathetic ear. Our sessions are conversational, but you know yourself best. I may guide you through exercises, help process your thoughts and feelings, and share my interpretations of what I hear. It will feel like we are working together, and my hope is that you look forward to our time together.
