Getting to know Esther Riggs

Hi there, I'm Esther! I am an educator and a licensed therapist with seven years of experience in private practice, where I’ve worked with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach I bring a flexible, client-centered approach, drawing from CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy depending on each person's unique needs. I see therapy as a collaborative process where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. My focus My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are ready to explore their patterns and work toward meaningful change. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, and they’re seeking not just relief, but deeper understanding and connection. They’re open to reflection, emotionally honest conversations, and creative or integrative approaches. Whether they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, they’re willing to show up and engage in the process—even if they’re not sure where to begin. My communication style My communication style is warm, friendly, and authentic. I aim to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and supported. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a down-to-earth approach to every session, meeting people with respect and care, without pretense or judgment. My goal is to build a real connection and trust, so clients can feel safe enough to explore what truly matters to them. My journey to mental healthcare I’ve always been passionate about psychology and understanding people on a deeper level. I started working with adolescents in 2004, gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting, and later found my love for teaching—sharing psychology, human development, and personal growth with college students for over a decade. Now, in private practice, I bring that background into the therapy room.
