What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic philosophy begins with cultivating safety and trust within the client/counselor relationship. I truly believe that it is vital to build a strong foundation. I believe that is important because, as a therapist, I understand that I am entering your private world. This is a deep and sacred trust. It is important to me that my clients know that whether or not that trust has been violated by others in the past, I will create a sanctuary in which those hurts that have created trauma, anxiety, depression, etc., can be explored, understood and, as we face that pain together, we can find healing and restoration. I take pride in a diverse approach to working with clients across a number of spectrums. I have worked with children, adolescents, indivduals and couples. I enjoy working with victims of trauma and the process of walking through that together. My treatment methods depend primarly on what we determine together is the most effective approach for your needs. Whether you are looking to modify or change certain behaviors or work through deeply rooted trauma, I want to create an enviornment in which you can freely find your voice, reengage with yourself in a meaningful way and know that you are not alone. I hope you reach out and I look forward to connecting with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As relationships are central to our lives, I find Interpersonal Therapy, Family Systems, CBT and EFT to be a few of the effective modalities in terms of processing and understanding how our thoughts, emotions, boundaries, relationship roles, shape our interactions with others and ourselves; and ultimately, how those interactions affect day to day functioning.
