What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a warm, respectful, and culturally attuned approach to therapy. At JONA, we take time to understand each person’s background, values, family dynamics, and life experiences, recognizing how culture and life stage shape emotional health. Our clinicians work with a wide range of concerns, including aging-related transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and questions around meaning and purpose in life. Therapy sessions are collaborative and paced to each client’s comfort level, with an emphasis on emotional safety, trust, and mutual respect. We believe in caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Within a supportive and compassionate therapeutic space, we walk alongside our clients as they work toward greater clarity, balance, healing, and personal growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session, we take time to gently explore what you’re currently experiencing, what you hope to gain from therapy, and how your emotions and body respond within your daily life and environment. Rather than rushing into evaluations or conclusions, I focus on listening carefully and creating a safe, supportive, and comfortable therapeutic relationship. Each session is paced according to your comfort level and readiness. The goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but also to deepen self-understanding, strengthen emotional stability and resilience, and support meaningful changes that align with your values and life goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to ensure that you feel respected, empowered, and actively involved in your own healing journey.
