Psychotherapist
NY
As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe many of the ways we think, feel, and respond are rooted in our attempts to protect ourselves, shaped by the experiences and resources available to us at the time. I also believe that clients come to therapy with valuable strengths, skills, and wisdom already within them. Together, we can build on those strengths, make sense of what you’ve experienced, and find ways to move toward the goals and values that feel meaningful to you. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from IFS, ACT, DBT, somatic practices, and EMDR. I place a great deal of value on the therapeutic relationship and strive to build connection through authenticity, warmth, and, when it feels right, humor. Some sessions may call for deeper exploration, while others may be about managing everyday stressors. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand what feels “off,” let alone find the words to explain it to someone else. My hope is to create a space where you don’t need to have all the answers; you can simply arrive as yourself, wherever you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use evidence-based therapies like EMDR, IFS, DBT, and CBT to help clients deepen their understanding of themselves and learn new tools for managing symptoms. Ultimately, however, I believe therapy should be a collaborative process. We'll work together to determine what style of therapy best fits your unique needs and goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer free, 15-minute consultations. We'll go over any questions you might have and discuss what working together could look like.
