Hardships and life circumstances often create suffering and obstacles that may appear insurmountable on our personal journey to health and happiness. These challenges can blind us to new opportunities, dim the joy and activity in our daily experience, and ultimately make us feel like a completely different person. However, this same adversity can be the catalyst for incredible growth. When we identify our strength and resiliency, we rediscover our purpose and build confidence that future challenges can be met with success. I respect the unique strengths, talents, and life circumstances of each of my clients. Whether you are struggling with problems sleeping, grief from a loss, or general stress, I can help you reframe your current challenges as opportunities, offer concrete coping skills, and change the way you think, feel, and behave to reach your full potential. With a Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, I bring both education and empathy to my work. I believe and trust in your resiliency and want to help you do the same. Change is hard, but you do not have to do it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Simply put, I focus on the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. From this simple concept, we can identify barriers, brainstorm solutions, review coping skills, and reach goals. I have 16 years of experience using scientifically proven skills and tools to help clients achieve their goals. As a result of my experience as a member of an integrated care team, I believe in a whole person approach to treatment. This means I consider all parts of your life to promote health and happiness. During those 16 years, I have acquired certifications in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-i), biofeedback, pain management, diabetes management, and integrated care. With an additional certificate in virtual counseling, I look forward to being able to connect with more adults in Colorado.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Studies show the importance of feeling comfortable and confident with your therapist, and I will take every step to answer questions, give you an idea of my therapy style, as well as how I might approach your particular concerns. If we decide to move forward, we will schedule an intake which will consist of getting background information on your biographical, psychological, and social history, complete screening questionaires on your symptoms, and create goals for treatment. This will provide us the roadmap as to where we are starting from and where we are going. Frequency of sessions will be discussed, and from there, we will begin the work towards the treatment plan that we create to find relief from the symptoms and concerns provided using cognitive behavioral therapy.
