Getting to know Evaristus Fotindong

My journey to becoming a therapist began in a remote village in Africa, where I witnessed firsthand how deeply misunderstood and stigmatized mental health challenges were. Growing up, these struggles were often attributed to witchcraft, leading to the isolation and mistreatment of those affected. Many were confined to isolation camps, seen as having offended the gods. These experiences ignited a lifelong passion in me to better understand mental health and advocate for compassionate, informed care. After moving to the United States, I pursued a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Langston University in Oklahoma. I worked as a behavioral health case manager from 2020 to 2023 and have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2023. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space for all my clients, drawing from both my lived experience and clinical training to advocate for mental health awareness, healing, and empowerment in every community I serve.
