Psychotherapist
NY
Please note the 20-minute appointment is for a consultation. Full sessions are 45 minutes and will be scheduled together after the consultation. Consultations are free of charge. On a daily basis, many of us feel overwhelmed, chronically stressed, fearful of what the future holds, and weighed down by the past. I am here to guide you in a process of uncovering the inner resources that will allow you to ride the waves of life with confidence, ease, and a sense of clarity. The journey begins with a willingness to look inside yourself and release the stories that are getting in your way. This is not so much a process of becoming as it is one of undoing. Underneath the layers of pain, uncertainty, and fear lies your true self—an internal space of ease, compassion, and safety you will learn to come home to regardless of what is happening in your life externally. I am here to support you on this journey of undoing, of self-understanding, and of uncovering your inner wisdom. With a Master’s in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree from Smith College, I bring both education and experience to provide you with a safe space where you can connect more deeply with your inner knowing, gain perspective on whatever you may be struggling with, feel empowered to make the change you want to see in your life, and uncover inner resources that will help you get there.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adolescents, college students, young professionals, adults and couples. I work with clients seeking to heal from trauma, manage and reduce anxiety and OCD, reduce stress, improve their relationships, and/or manage chronic pain. I work best with those willing to explore mindfulness and body-based practices as well as those open to modalities such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems. As your therapist I will compassionately and non-judgmentally hold space for you as you travel the path to greater self-understanding. Depending on your needs I may take a Psychodynamic approach to highlight the patterns at play in your life and their history; a Mindful approach to help you gain greater insight into the self, develop self-compassion, and find space from suffering; a Somatic approach to release trauma stored in the body, develop a stronger mind-body connection, and heal the nervous system; IFS to strengthen your connection to Self and befriend your Parts; and/or EMDR to help you process trauma and anything else that is holding you in the past.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My current weekly availability is: Wednesdays at 5:30 PM, Thursdays at 11 AM and 1:30 PM, and Fridays at 11 AM and 2:30 PM. I also have sessions available every other week on: Thursdays at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM. The suitability for every other week sessions is determined on a case by case basis. If none of these times work for you but you are very interested in working together please let me know as my schedule might change.  I am currently not in-network with insurances, meaning you would pay the session fee at the time of the appointment and later seek reimbursement from your insurance company. This can be done easily through the website/app Reimbursify, or directly through your insurance. You can see if you have out-of-network mental health benefits by logging into the insurance company website or calling the number on the back of your card. Some insurances reimburse up to 90% of the session fee.  I'm looking forward to learning what's bringing you to therapy and discussing how I may be able to help.
