I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from San Jose State University. With over 25 years of experience as a counselor and therapist, I have seen enough to reassure you that nothing is too difficult for us! My experience includes working with individuals facing mental health issues; disabilities; peer pressure; self-esteem challenges; domestic violence (supporting victims and batterers); academic settings; gang systems; juvenile and adult probation; court-ordered therapy; parenting without violence; co-parenting; couples counseling; group homes; foster care; adoption; survivors’ healing; drug court; dual diagnoses; FIRST 5 developmental issues; group therapy; judicial systems; economic challenges; ABA; employment difficulties; spiritual growth; and discrimination. You have chosen me for a reason, so let’s get to work together as a team—after all, there is no “I” in team! CBT is my go-to theoretical approach; however, I adjust to my clients’ needs. With that said, how can I serve you?
I do not have a preferred type of client since I am trained to work with whatever is presented. I am most comfortable treating those who are goal-driven, motivated for change, or at least acknowledging they are stuck—recognizing that something, someone, or a situation is preventing you from moving forward.
