Life can be overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself while also being challenged to grow. My approach is authentic, compassionate, and direct—I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe real change happens through honest conversations, evidence-based treatment, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and behavioral challenges. I primarily utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring each session to meet your individual needs and goals. Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health, school-based counseling, juvenile justice, and health and wellness settings, giving me experience supporting clients with a wide range of backgrounds and challenges. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop practical skills, heal from past experiences, and build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Whether you're looking to process trauma, manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, or simply feel more like yourself again, I'm here to meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my approach as warm, genuine, and refreshingly honest. I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative partnership where you are supported, respected, and encouraged to grow. I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable being yourself while also feeling challenged to make meaningful changes. I believe in meeting people where they are, without judgment, while also helping them move toward where they want to be. My style balances compassion with accountability. I'll celebrate your progress, help you recognize your strengths, and gently challenge patterns or beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Sometimes you'll need empathy and validation; other times you'll need someone to ask the hard questions or encourage you to take the next step. I believe both are essential for lasting change. I use evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, DBT, and CBT, tailoring treatment to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. My goal is to provide practical tools, deeper insight, and a supportive space where healing and growth can happen at your own pace. Above all, I want clients to leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and equipped to move forward with greater confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that meaningful change happens between sessions, not just during them. I often compare therapy to starting an exercise program—you can learn the techniques during our time together, but lasting growth comes from practicing them in your everyday life. My goal is to help you build practical skills that you can use long after therapy ends. Most sessions begin with a check-in and setting an agenda based on what's most important to you that day. We'll review how your week went, discuss any challenges or successes, and look over any practice assignments from the previous session, such as mood trackers, thought records, diary cards, or other exercises. Together, we'll identify patterns, problem-solve obstacles, and learn new skills that you can apply to situations you're facing right now. If we're using EMDR, sessions may focus on building the coping and grounding skills needed to prepare for trauma processing. Once you're ready, we'll work through difficult memories at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of reducing their emotional impact and helping you move toward the life you want to live. While I tend to use a structured, skills-based approach grounded in evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and EMDR, I also recognize that sometimes what people need most is a space to be heard. I adapt my approach to your needs, whether that means learning new strategies, processing difficult experiences, or simply having a supportive conversation. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and we'll work together to find the approach that best supports your goals.
