Getting to know Fajir Alattar
Growing up in the Middle East, I gained invaluable insights into the importance of embracing diversity and adapting to new cultures. When I later moved to the United States, I became acutely aware of the profound impact cultural dynamics have on mental health, igniting my passion to create an inclusive environment in therapy, particularly for minorities and people of color. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, which has equipped me with advanced skills to support diverse populations. As a therapist, I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, or adjustment disorders? Feeling adrift without adequate support while confronting these challenges can be a daunting experience. But you no longer need to weather this storm alone. Together we can forge a path forward and discover possibilities of healing and resilience.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Using an integrative approach that includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused methods I help clients find freedom from their mental health challenges. Witnessing the positive transformations my clients undergo, from heightened confidence to profound insights into their behaviors, is immensely gratifying.
