My name is Feather Tapio, and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) based in Honolulu, Hawaii. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Minnesota. I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I have worked with everyone ages 5 to 95, but primarily adolescents in recent years, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients start their healing process one session at a time. My approach My therapy approach begins with discussing what the client wishes to get out of therapy and then creating a treatment plan with them in mind. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Approaches, and Multicultural Therapy as guides to help me support my clients on their path to mental well-being. My focus I have worked with multiple families, keiki (children), and adults throughout my years as a mental health therapist. I have found that my style works for anyone struggling with anger, depression, communication, or relationships. I work hard to create an environment where, whether it is your first time in therapy or your 100th, you will grow and expand your well-being. My communication style My communication style is thoughtful, authentic, and compassionate. I do therapy in a way that I hope another therapist would care for my friends and family going through difficult moments in their lives. I try to help you discover your own AHA! moment to take outside our sessions.
