I'm Dr. Felicia Lewis, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision. I serve as Clinical Director at EdYouth Foundation, and I've spent my career working with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating hard seasons, big transitions, and emotional overwhelm. My background is broad and deeply rooted in clinical practice. I spent years as a university professor, training and supervising graduate counseling students. In private practice and at EdYouth, I've worked with trauma survivors, at-risk youth, and individuals navigating complex relationships—all while building the kind of practice that reflects what I believe matters most in this work. What I've learned is that counseling is fundamentally about presence. It's about showing up for someone without judgment, meeting them in their reality, and helping them discover their own strength and direction. Whether you work with me as a client or receive my clinical supervision as a counselor, my approach is the same: genuine care, clinical expertise, and a commitment to walking alongside you toward the future you're building.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe my greatest joy comes from watching clients feel free—becoming aware and empowered to make positive decisions of self-improvement. My goal is to help you find peace and strength to come out stronger, even through the worst of experiences. I specialize in working with children through adults dealing with depression, self-esteem struggles, relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions, and adoption or foster care experiences. For families with children, I recognize that the parent-child relationship is foundational to healing, so I often work with the whole family as a crucial part of treatment. I also integrate Christian faith and spirituality when clients desire it—in a way that is compassionate, respectful, and never forced. My approach draws on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and family systems work, all grounded in a holistic, empowering perspective. At EdYouth, I personally conduct your intake assessment to understand your complete picture. If we're a good fit, you'll continue with a dedicated member of my clinical team who brings fresh energy and focused attention to your care, while I remain actively involved in treatment planning, case consultation, and ensuring you receive the full spectrum of support EdYouth offers.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We'll start by exploring what brought you here now—what's been feeling heavy or stuck, and what you're hoping might change. I'll ask questions about your history, relationships, and current stressors, but you're always in control of what you share and how much detail you offer. Together, we'll work to understand what's happening, why it matters, and what kind of support will serve you best. I'll listen to your story without judgment and help you see the bigger picture of your life and circumstances. Most clients leave our first session feeling relieved, more hopeful, and like someone finally understands their situation. You can expect a calm, non-judgmental space where you'll be heard and supported as we identify next steps forward and work toward your goals. Depending on your needs, we may incorporate structured therapeutic techniques, family involvement, or connection to other resources through EdYouth Foundation's broader programs.
