Getting to know Felix Abidor

I work with young adults navigating questions of identity, trauma, anxiety, relationships, and the experience of trying to build a life while simultaneously wondering what exactly is going on. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware, but still find themselves stuck in painful patterns, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. My background in executive functioning also informs my work with clients struggling with motivation, focus, organization, or the exhausting feeling of always being behind no matter how hard they try.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood, but not merely agreed with. Together, we look closely at the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others—especially the ones that seem to keep showing up uninvited. I’m interested not only in helping people feel better, but in helping them understand themselves more deeply and move through life with greater freedom and flexibility.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I do not take a distant or overly clinical stance in therapy. I tend to be active, curious, and relational in the room, and I believe humor often has an important place in serious conversations. Therapy does not require you to perform wellness, have everything neatly articulated, or pretend to be more certain than you are. In my view, the work is less about becoming a different person and more about developing a fuller, more honest relationship with the person you already are.
