Frances Larsen, LPCC

Frances Larsen, LPCC

Psychotherapist
NM
My name is Frances Larsen, but most everyone calls me Francie. I have been a therapist for over 30 years and it is like breathing for me. My approach I believe we all have times when we need someone to talk to objectively and confidentially about something in our lives. My job is not to fix, but to help my client sort things out and look at choices. But most important is to support my client. My focus I guess I do not have an ideal client. I love hearing people's stories. I am a Christian and believe that people who come to me are meant to be there. My communication style I am not sure what my exact communication style is, but over the years it has seemed to be effective. I am a 12-step person and believe it is important to be direct. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist after going through treatment for Codependency many, many years ago, it took me 8 years to get my education while being a divorced mom with two small boys. I really truly do not want to ever stop doing counseling. People ask often how I can do this job and I always say, "I make a difference". My goals for you Always, the goals must come from my client with support from me. My first session with you During a first session with you I will spend the time finding out about the "Now" in your life and how it is affecting you. Then if we have time, we might look at some goals. But I will definitely want to get to know you and you to get to know me.
