Francesca Papazis, LPC

Psychotherapist
1904 South St, Philadelphia, PA
I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. I also believe humans are built for connection, and when you find a therapist who is the right fit for your needs, therapy can be healing. I encourage safety and empowerment with my clients, compassionately challenging them to work toward their individual goals and embrace their intuitive sense of self. I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship challenges, sexuality and identity exploration, past and childhood trauma, and attachment healing, though I am here to support you with any topics you choose to bring to session. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and earned both a Master’s in Professional Counseling and an MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania.

Getting to know Francesca Papazis

I believe you know yourself better than anyone else. I also believe humans are built for connection, and when you find a therapist who is the right fit for your needs, therapy can be healing. I encourage safety and empowerment with my clients, compassionately challenging them to work toward their individual goals and embrace their intuitive sense of self. What should a new client know about working with you?

I view therapy primarily through an attachment-based and psychodynamic lens. Therefore, I see the way our early experiences inform how we show up in our relationships with others (and with ourselves). I also use a feminist framework, validating how our social/cultural identities and political environment impact our wellness.   I am sex-positive, nonjudgemental, & queer/gender-affirming. I bring my extensive experience in youth advocacy into my clinical work, and because of this, I am sensitive to intergenerational trauma & traumatic stress caused by systems.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have availability in-person (Philadelphia) on Thu/Fri and virtually Mon-Fri for clients in PA. I also offer evening hours. I typically see clients on a weekly or biweekly basis. However, therapy is a collaborative process, and I am happy to discuss what interventions and treatment timeline works best for you.
