“My first session with Fred Armstrong exceeded my expectations. I went in feeling nervous and unsure of what to expect, but the session felt very natural and conversational rather than clinical or rigid. Fred has a calm and thoughtful way of asking questions that helped me see things from a different perspective. I especially appreciated how he recognized the importance of creativity in my life and approached the session as a collaborative space rather than an evaluation. I left feeling relieved, encouraged, and hopeful about the work ahead.”

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am passionate about serving a variety of communities who may struggle with depression, anxiety, sadness, self-esteem, life transitions, traumas, and an array of other challenges that may leave an individual feeling alone, hopeless, and emotionally paralyzed. I desire to build the right therapeutic relationship to provide acceptance without judgement in a supportive safe space. I utilize predominately cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as other modalities (e.g. person-centered and solution-focused). My goal is to offer guidance and collaborate with you as we focus on what you would like your life to look like while building on your strengths and visions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have a collaborative approach to therapy utilizing talk therapy.

Working with Fred was always a pleasant experience. He provided great tips and insight to handle my issues and allowed for me to see things from a difference lens. Thankful for his service.
In my experience interactions are always professional and lead with kindness and understanding. My first experiences with couples therapy and counseling have been with Fred. I feel fortunate to have had such a positive experience from the very beginning and would recommend anyone that is looking for the same to give him a try.
Fred has been an absolute joy to work with and he's helped me through some tough times of transition and anxiety. He's always respectful and flexible with my schedule which I really appreciate. He has the ability to listen attentively and knows exactly when to offer words of wisdom and perspective. He knows how to keep track of patterns by taking inventory of what I'm saying and knows how to offer insights and affirmations at the right time. He's also not afraid to tell it like he sees it which helps me process through my anxiety. I'm so thankful for his help and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and compassionate therapist.
My therapist is AMAZING - when you can find a therapist who really gets you and you can have real conversations with (as opposed to someone who only listens for 95% of the time), it is life-changing. I always walk away from a session with new insights, and it is always worth my time and energy.
