Fredrick Theobald, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Argosy University–Dallas. Since becoming a therapist, I have dedicated my practice to helping adults navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and authenticity. I work with individuals ages 18 and older and have a particular passion for helping people through major life transitions such as divorce, grief, career changes, and other significant turning points. I also specialize in addiction recovery, including substance use and compulsive sexual behaviors, as well as trauma treatment and emotional healing. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that people already possess the inner resources they need to cope, heal, and grow—life experiences can simply make those strengths difficult to access. My role is to help clients clear away those obstacles, heal from the past, and reconnect with their authentic selves. To do that, I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness practices, and other therapeutic tools tailored to each client's needs. Interestingly, my path to counseling began while I was working in the real estate title industry. During that time, I spent evenings and weekends providing counseling and spiritual direction through my church. Those experiences confirmed what I was truly called to do, and in 2006 I returned to graduate school and transitioned into a full-time counseling career. Outside the therapy office, I enjoy reading, lifelong learning, and exploring the connections between emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth. I believe therapy can be serious work, but that doesn’t mean we can’t laugh along the way. Healing happens best when people feel safe, understood, and occasionally reminded not to take themselves quite so seriously.
