Getting to know Dr. Gabriela Asch-Ortiz

Since 2008, I’ve supported people in therapy using an integrative approach grounded in cultural-relational, psychodynamic, and humanistic frameworks. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Board-Certified Music Therapist, I draw from talk therapy, music and creative arts, mindfulness, somatic tools, and spiritual practices.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with individuals navigating complex life transitions, relational stress, parenting, chronic illness, and moments of deep emotional overwhelm. Some come carrying grief, trauma, or intergenerational pain. Others are moving through anxiety, identity questions, infertility, or challenges related to caregiving or chronic pain. Many feel stuck or disconnected—whether from themselves, their communities, or a sense of meaning. They are not just looking for coping strategies, but for a healing process that honors the full scope of who they are, including their emotional, spiritual, and cultural selves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether you're moving through pain, change, or uncertainty, you don’t have to do it alone. If you're looking for a thoughtful, collaborative space to explore what’s coming up for you, I invite you to reach out when you’re ready. We can move at your pace.
