Hi there! I am glad that you are here and considering therapy. Sometimes everyone just needs a little bit of help figuring themselves and their lives out, and I am definitely here to help you do that. I have a special interest in working with tweens, teens, adults, and couples who are going through tough times. I especially enjoy helping clients figure out how to manage their ADHD, autism, or other developmental or learning-related challenges. I also especially enjoy helping clients navigate questions about their gender and sexuality, coming out, and/or the transition process. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, which has equipped me with the skills to support you through these journeys.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sessions with me are warm and empathetic. i favor a person centered approach that allows you to be the expert on your own life and for me to help support, guide, and challenge you along the way. Sometimes clients just need to "vent" to me and that is totally fine. Other times we will be purposeful about finding targeted solutions to help you get to the next step in your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first couple of sessions I will have lots of questions for you to better understand your personal history and the origin story of the challenges that you are facing. It will help me for you to be as honest and open as possible so that we can start to build trust and figure out what your goals for therapy are. Subsequent sessions will be a mixture of "processing" thoughts and feelings as well as learning tools and strategies that you can immediately implement in challenging situations.
