Getting to know Gabrielle Bowen

I am a very down-to-earth therapist, and I present in a genuine, caring way to my clients. I entered this profession because I have a passion for working with people who are going through a dark time in their lives, and I have faith that things can change. I hold Bachelor's and Master's Degrees of Social Work from Auburn University, and because of my background, I have a wide range of experience with clients struggling with all sorts of issues. I specialize in working with those experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, and emotion regulation issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with my clients using a non-judgmental and empathetic approach. I have a very down-to-earth style that helps clients feel comfortable, and I’m open to feedback based on what you need. At the core of my therapeutic practice is Person-Centered Therapy, which is about the therapist's need to be authentic, show empathy, and have unconditional positive regard. Because of this, I believe that providing the space of therapy and being genuine is so healing already. I do draw upon other modalities of treatment-- my favorites of which are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
