Hello, I'm Gabrielle Monreal, a Licensed Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Aurora University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Through my personal journey of seeking relief from my own mental and physical health challenges, I discovered alternative healing approaches that have greatly influenced my work as a clinician.
My approach to therapy is holistic and integrative, empowering clients to become self-healers. I consider all aspects of our lifestyle and the roles they play, from nutrition and hormonal balance to chronic stress, trauma, and everything in between.
Having walked a similar path, I understand the perspective of clients who may find seeking support overwhelming. Therefore, I am committed to fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can freely express yourself. My style is direct, yet compassionate, and I prioritize creating a meaningful, therapeutic, and authentic relationship.
I particularly excel in working with individuals who are motivated and curious about uncovering the root causes of their self-sabotaging behaviors. I also have experience supporting individuals with various forms of anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder. Additionally, I can provide assistance to those struggling with self-esteem/body image issues and disordered eating. Incorporating humor and laughter into the healing journey is something I embrace, as it can play a valuable role in the therapeutic process.
